About us

A ruin that captured my heart in 2019 and has been an ongoing project ever since. From the early 20th century, the Starch Factory in Härnestad was run by a collective to which the farmers in the surrounding area delivered potatoes by horse and cart. The starch was made from the potato with the single and simple addition of water. And the fact that the factory was built in limestone is no coincidence because the stone was manufactured in Vittskövle, just 5 km away. With that knowledge, I want to continue to explore and create from what is already close at hand.

Now to the wonderful step of opening a webshop with products of my own design and inspiration from Stärkelsefabriken, its history and current character. All objects have been named after potato varieties and the colors of the textiles can be found in building materials and plants from characteristic features of the Starch Factory. Smoked oak, rust, lime, charcoal, sage and reeds.

My ruin, my home and now also my webshop Stärkelsefabriken.
